Activities Conducted 2026-27

Centre for Sustainability at GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research (GLBIMR), Greater Noida successfully organized “Waste to Worth: The Upcycle Pitch Challenge” on 18th September 2026. The campaign was a student-driven sustainability initiative designed to turn waste into viable, sellable commercial products, fostering innovation and environmental responsibility among management students.

The campaign invited student teams of 3 members each to take part in an experiential upcycling challenge. Participants identified dedicated waste streams—including newspaper, discarded plastic containers and bottles, fabric scraps, and organic shells—and engineered them into market-ready, functional consumer products. The objective was to cultivate circular economy principles, promote resource efficiency, and instil entrepreneurial pitching skills.

After a thorough evaluation of all product pitches and demonstrations, the following teams emerged as the top performers of “Waste to Worth: The Upcycle Pitch Challenge”:

1. First Place: Team Miracle (Viramrasheel Chaturvedi, Sanjhavi Gupta, Ranjan Kumar Singh)
2. Second Place: Bin-Novators (Nidhi Kumari, Garima Jha, Neer Jain)
3. Third Place: GL Bajaj (Tamanna Singh, Tejaswi Gupta, Khushi Kushwah)

Founded in 2016 by environmentalist and mountaineer Pradeep Sangwan, Healing Himalayas Foundation works to protect fragile Himalayan ecosystems by enabling community-led climate resilient circular waste management systems tailored to high-altitude regions.
