The centre will plan & execute the events related with entrepreneurship and innovation not only for students and alumni but also for underprivileged youth of society.

Mapping with the Vision & Mission
The framework pays attention to how the entrepreneurship policy interacts with a broader climate. The ultimate focus, internally, is to develop students’ entrepreneurial skills to become entrepreneurs either while pursuing their education or after completing it. Additionally, to also facilitate the underprivileged youth of our society to pursue their dreams to become entrepreneur.

These can be met by providing venues for students to:

  1. Initiate student entrepreneurial activities.
  2. Facilitating students to work with startups and small and medium- sized businesses/organizations during their internship/summer internship programme.
  3. Providing opportunities for students to generate business/venture ideas through various events;like idea generation competition, selling their products/services through organizing “Melas/Haats”.
  4. Offering opportunity for students to acquire the knowledge to start a venture.
  5. Providing students access to entrepreneurial courses; like MOOC/Value Added Courses.

Deferred Placement Policy (DPP)
The Deferred Placement Policy (DPP) aims at promoting entrepreneurship among its students by enabling students to start up their own venture with minimum risks. If the enterprise does not succeed in a stipulated period, they could come back and join the campus placement process.
The deferred placement is a fallback option, which will be taken care by a committee comprising the Director, Head Corporate Resource Centre, Chairperson- PGDM, Chairperson/Coordinator- CODE-I and the Class Coordinator. This policy aims to encourage students who’re looking to work on their own start-up idea by safeguarding them against the risk of having to forgo campus placements.

Alumni
One of the stakeholders for whom this policy has a strategic view are the alumni. For mainstreaming them, a charter for Alumni Entrepreneurs is to be created. This will facilitate them to:

  1. Expand/diversify their business.
  2. Support in marketing their product/services.
  3. Train their employees.
  4. Make them aware about the various schemes of Central & State Governments related with innovation & entrepreneurship.

Alumni will also be part of the mentoring team to guide the current students.

Validity, Applicability and Exclusions
