Proposal for Alumni-Sponsored Scholarship for PGDM Topper Students

This proposal aims to establish an Alumni-Sponsored Scholarship Program to recognize and reward academic excellence among PGDM students at GLBIMR. By leveraging the support of our alumni community, the program will serve as an incentive for top-performing students, foster a culture of excellence, and strengthen alumni engagement.

1. Objectives

  • Recognize Academic Achievement: To honor PGDM students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance.
  • Encourage Alumni Involvement: To create meaningful engagement opportunities for alumni, allowing them to give back to the institution and support the next generation.
  • Promote Student Motivation: To inspire students to excel academically and enhance their professional and personal growth.

2. Scholarship Details

Eligibility:

  • Open to students in the PGDM program who achieve the highest Marks in Term I, II, III and IV every year. (Top 05) (Rs 5000* 5=25,000 Rs/every term)
  • Must demonstrate integrity, leadership and a commitment to their field of study.

Award:

  • An annual scholarship amount (25,000 Rs * 4 Terms = INR 1,00,000) funded by alumni donations.
  • Certificate of Recognition from the Alumni Association and GLBIMR.

3. Funding Model

  • Alumni Contributions: The scholarship fund will be supported by donations from alumni, either individually or through class funds. This can be structured as a recurring contribution.
  • Scholarship Endowment: A portion of funds can be allocated towards an endowment to ensure the scholarship's sustainability and continuity.

4. Selection Process

  • Academic Performance: The primary criterion will be the highest academic GPA/CGPA in the PGDM every TERM (Starting from Term I to Term IV).
  • Additional Criteria: Eligible student should not carry any back and supplementary paper.
  • Selection Committee: A committee comprising faculty members and alumni will oversee the selection process, ensuring a fair and transparent process.

5. Implementation Steps

  1. Establish Fund: Set up a designated alumni scholarship fund account.
  2. Promote Program: Use GLBIMR's communication channels to inform alumni about the initiative and invite contributions.
  3. Recognition Ceremony: Award the scholarship at an annual awards event, inviting alumni contributors to attend and engage with students.

B. Resource Raised Contribution in Alumni Association Account

The contributions made to the Alumni Association account play a crucial role in supporting various initiatives and activities that benefit the alumni community and the institution. These funds, raised through voluntary contributions, membership fees, or sponsorships, can be utilized in the following ways:

GLBIMR Alumni have contributed more than 14 Lac in GLBIMR Alumni Association Account till November, 2024.

  • Skill Development Programs: Organize workshops, training sessions, and seminars for current students.
  • Networking Events: Fund alumni meet-ups, professional networking events, and reunions.
  • Alumni Engagement: Develop online platforms and tools for alumni to stay connected.
